Ashley Quattrochi allegedly admitted to smoking fentanyl in powder form before taking a nap with her daughter at their East Drumore Township home on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, according to the affidavit.
When she woke up, the toddler was unresponsive, pale, and had purple lips, Quattrochi told investigators. She suspected an overdose, having witnessed similar symptoms before, police said.
Emergency responders rushed to 942 Buck Road, Apartment D at 1:42 p.m. and administered Narcan, which revived the child before she was flown to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for life-saving treatment, authorities said.
Quattrochi later told police her daughter may have accessed fentanyl stored in a dresser drawer or ingested residue from a straw she had used to take the drug, investigators wrote.
A search of her bedroom uncovered multiple drug baggies stamped ‘G Way’ and ‘BA ASS,’ mini zip-lock baggies, and drug paraphernalia, which were entered into evidence, police said.
Toxicology tests later confirmed fentanyl in the child’s system at 4.10 ng/mL, authorities said.
Investigators also found Quattrochi had a prior drug-related arrest in May 2024, when troopers found her passed out behind the wheel at a traffic light with her child in the back seat, records show.
She now faces felony endangering the welfare of a child and related charges, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
